If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you may have seen that Marie and I headed down to London a couple of weeks ago to attend the fifth annual Red Ribbon Awards hosted at the amazing Goldsmiths Hall, set up to recognise the achievements of British, family-run businesses.

Well, to say we were delighted to be bringing home the Award for Innovation would be an understatement!

To be recognised in a category which celebrates family businesses that are innovative, ahead of the game and leading the way amongst competitors, means a great deal to us.

Innovation has been key for us, as it is for so many other smaller British family businesses, from the date of start-up, in every aspect of our business. It’s also great to have recognition for starting a new category in the grocery retail market that continues to gather momentum.

We were particularly pleased to be representing Yorkshire’s great produce along with Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, Shepherds Purse, Wold Top Brewery and Yorvale Dairy Ice Cream. Another coup for the quality of the county’s fabulous food producing family businesses…

So, we’d like to say a huge “thank you!” to the Family Business Place, who organised the awards, and a big “congratulations!” to all the other winners and shortlisted family businesses!
