Summertime at the farm on the Yorkshire Wolds
Dare we even say it? But summer might just be making an appearance this year. We are keeping our fingers, toes and everything else crossed in the hope of some much-needed good weather for our crops (we wouldn’t mind a little sunshine for us too!). Light showers overnight would be even more ideal!
So to get us in the mood for the start of summer 2013, we have put together a video of some of the finer days from last year’s summer (yes, there were some).
In this latest film we capture the end of spring through to harvest. This really is our favourite time of year. From views of our arable crops on the edge of the dale, our barley before harvest, the planting of our seed potatoes and the Fuego beans we grow.
There are also some delightful shots of the barley harvest in full swing and some of the fabulous wildlife which enjoy the Wolds landscape with us. We are lucky to have such a diverse habitat for honey bees, butterflies and lots of different wild flowers around the farm.
We hope you enjoy our video as much as we did!
