Some good old Yorkshire hospitality

There’s nothing we enjoy more than welcoming visitors to the farm and offering some good old Yorkshire hospitality. Recently we were able to do just that when our friends from Fairway Foodservice paid us a visit.

It was the first time we’d welcomed members of the buying group to our production facility near the East Yorkshire coast, so after a tour behind the scenes to see how we bake our tasty tatties, we headed to one of our favourite eateries, The Cow Shed, which overlooks beautiful Fraisthorpe beach.

From there we headed to the farm and boarded our trusty Land Rover for a tour of the farm joined by the newest member of the Bannister family, Barley the Cocker Spaniel! Luckily the weather was on our side so we were able to show our visitors plenty of farm activity: potato lifting was in full swing and the last of the combining was taking place as our beans were harvested.

A great day really was had by all. We feel eternally fortunate to farm in such a stunning part of the country and we love showing others around this corner of the Yorkshire Wolds.
