The potato planting season is at last completed; I have never known potatoes to be planted so late. Ours have been in the ground for a couple of weeks now which is much later than usual. The ideal planting time is normally April  when the soil has warmed and dried sufficiently to allow the machines to travel but this year the rain just kept on and on.

It is difficult to tell what the final effect of this late season will be as it all depends on what the weather does now. The ideal would be beautiful sunny, warm days with showers during the night. I think everyone would be happy then!
