Our favourite time on the farm
Spring time really is one of our favourite times of the year on the farm. After the drabness of winter (albeit punctuated with the odd day of snow), everywhere you look there are signs of new life, promises of what’s to come.
The Wolds are awash with green and yellow and on the farm we’re seeing the fava beans emerging (see main photo), just a few green leaves at the moment but come summer they’ll be well over a metre tall with those unmistakeable white and black flowers.
Having just planted our seed potatoes, we’re looking forward to seeing the first green shoots poking through in a few weeks.
The trees on the farm are full of life too, bearing blossom and new leaves. We took this photograph (below) of a sycamore tree. We were struck by the amazing colour of the buds opening in the sunshine.
So much to see and such a lot to look forward to over the coming months as spring turns to summer.
