Today is World Poetry Day (21st March 2017) and what better inspiration for our verse than the humble spud? It’s our favourite subject, don’t you know!

The Humble Spud?

Whatever you call them, potatoes or spuds,

We’d eat lovely tubers all day if we could.

Boil them or roast them, mash them or bake,

Out of this tasty veg, so many dishes you can make.

They’re also extremely nutritiously good,

There is nothing humble about the humble spud.
