New Bannisters Farm innovation set to revolutionise food industry

At Bannisters’ Farm we have a reputation for innovation. Having launched the first frozen baked potato into the retail market in 2007, we’ve continued to add to our range. But we’re delighted to announce our latest innovation which is sure to completely revolutionise, not just the Baked Potato market but the food industry as a whole: the Baked Potato tree.

The evergreen tree produces a plentiful crop of potatoes with the taste of a traditionally baked spud.

Managing Director, Rob Bannister, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be able to share this ground-breaking innovation. Preparing the land, planting seed potatoes and harvesting the crops is a time-consuming business, not to mention the process of preparing and baking the potatoes.

Our Baked Potato tree keeps producing perfectly baked potatoes as long as we keep picking them; then all we have to do is freeze them!”

The tree-grown potatoes are currently undergoing checks with Defra but we hope to have them on the supermarket shelves by the end of summer.
