We love walking around the farm and spotting new signs of life at this time of the year. Green shoots sprouting from the brown earth and discreet buds on trees; all a promise of what’s to come.

The fields are starting to change colour again and those first signs of the vivid green of spring are really starting to appear everywhere, whether you look across the Wolds vista or down at the ground.

In the hedgerows, there are already lots of buds appearing on the hawthorns. However, the ash trees have some catching up to do! It always amazes us that they come into leaf so late, lose their leaves so early in autumn, yet still manage to grow into such enormous trees.

Back down at ground level, the ramsons, otherwise known as wild garlic, are also coming through. On our walks, we often like to pick a few leaves to add to our salads. Absolutely delicious!
