It’s Yorkshire Day!
The 1st of August, our favourite day of the year, well, except for Christmas Day and perhaps our birthday…
The first day of the eighth month signals Yorkshire Day, the day when we celebrate everything that is great about this wonderful and diverse county.
It’s no secret that we, at Bannisters’ Farm, are immensely proud of our Yorkshire roots. So much so that we penned this little poem all about Yorkshire folk. We hope you like it, it’s all true of course…
Yorkshire Folk
Yorkshire born, Yorkshire bred,
There’s nowhere we’d rather be living instead.
We say what we like and we like what we say.
Don’t ask to borrow money, we’ll probably say “nay”.
We eat Yorkshire puddings and drink beer on tap,
we all own a whippet and wear a flat cap.
But there’s one thing us Yorkshire folk all can agree,
we’re so proud that we come from God’s Own County.
