Glistening sea, bad weather for thee!
You’ve heard the phrase “red sky at night, shepherd’s delight” but have you heard the one about glistening sea?
Dad went for a walk early yesterday morning and took this shot of the sea glistening in the distance.
From up on the Wolds, we can only see the sea on a clear day and apparently, years ago, the older farmhands used to say that if the sea was glistening it was a sure sign of bad weather on the way.
Conveniently, they failed to say when the bad weather would arrive so they were always right!
Scepticism aside though, just hours after this photograph was taken, a storm descended, snow and all (see photo below)! Perhaps they were right?!
