Charity Tractor Run

Charity Tractor Run

We love tractors here!  Especially old ones.  That’s why we’ve had some illustrations of Rob’s favourites featured on our packaging since we launched our Bannisters Farm range in 2007.

These days, there seems to be a dedicated “week” for everything but we don’t seem to think there is one just for Tractors.  If there is, please let us know!  For now, we’ve decided to hold our own “tractor week” following the Charity Tractor Run that took place yesterday in aid of St Peter’s Church, Langtoft in memory of Charles Dowson and in celebration of the tractor – the power behind modern agriculture.

What a wonderful morning yesterday – a picnic Sunday brunch on a buttercup covered dale side, as a family together with some friends visiting from Australia, watching a stream of dozens of tractors ride through the dale.  It makes an incredible spectacle as the tractors, big and little, old and new, wend their way through one of the Wolds valleys towards Sledmere monument, before heading further on their circuit through Sledmere and round the valley towards lunch!

So, watch this space for our week of tractor posts.   And if you have any lovely pics or children’s drawings of tractors, please would you send us yours too?

Here’s to the tractor….
